I noticed the ad for R, Whites Lemonade outside the shop in Gun Street. We always enjoyed a cold glass of Corona lemonade when I was a boy. What a stroke of luck that brand disappeared.!

Never hear a bad word about the lovely owner who does a lot to help people all the time not just in this crisis.
And also another who are already listed are Pellicis who are always helping those less fortunate without blowing their own trumpets.

Hello GA, I do love your blog and never miss it. But one request for something that I would find valuable and perhaps your other readers might as well. PLEASE name the medium of the paintings, size would also be helpful. These paintings look like watercolor, but could be gouache, oil, or even colored pencil. They could be small, even done at the kitchen table, or rather large. I would like to know more.

Great idea GA! You truly are a stalwart of your community.
Yes, we should all be trying to support our small independent businesses at the moment wherever in the world we call home.
It worries me greatly that many of our remaining independent booksellers will fail to reopen when we emerge from this pandemic. Hopefully, at present, people will be reading more and will be ordering from them.

Nice to see the two Brick Lane beigel shops are open. I have had many debates about which is better!
Cecil Gee in Whitechapel? What a surprise.
I am guessing the bollards in Gun St are real gun barrels.
