Great stuff!

I love the way some of the businesses are advertised with a portrait of the moustachioed proprietors - was this to give an impression of their respectability? I also love the Random Use of Capital Letters in the sales pitches - presumably to give Emphasis to the Special Qualities of their Merchandise.

Some wonderful sights here and another trip down memory lane......thank you.
P.T. Perkins of Clarence Road was still going strong the the 1950's and 1960's, I remember getting my school uniform from there.
In the 1950's it had those overhead, wire cash carrying machines whizzing back and forth to a main cashier who sat in a small office at the back of the store. Cash only of course!
