A delightful and very encouraging article. We hear so much about Brick Lane not being what it was (though I’ve yet to eat a bad curry there!), but this is reaqssuring, and that’s my next few visits sorted, covering te ones I haven’t been to. It’s so easy to go back to the same ol’ favourites…

I wonder what Joseph Merceron would make of the fact that his Dad’s old pawnshop is now the Cinnamon Restaurant – as they themselves say: “King of Kings of all curries on Brick Lane”! Maybe there’s a new menu item there – the hottest of hot curries, called “The Boss of Bethnal Green”!
