Hi Sally
We used to work together in Princelet st
How did we lose contact.
I remember you so well and writing your poems on the brown backing paper of the embroidery.
Going to Petticoat Lane for salmon cream cheese, rollmops
Loved your poems so much back then. Remember your wonderful laugh and zest for life.
Hope you vaguely remember m

Inspiring article. Love the GA's generosity of spirit that seeks to celebrate all that is good and memorable about the East End and its many histories - personal and public.

It is a generosity of spirit that will make poets of us all! Thank you Sally for you courage and example of a voice that needs to be heard and has something moving and magical to say.

Poetry that I actually understand, what a treat, please may we have more? Thank you GA for yet another portrait of a very interesting lady and an insight into her life, I love the fuchsias in the background of the photograph and I am just about to go into my garden to tend to mine ~~~ one enjoyable job amongst the many tasks that await me out there at this time of the year ! Fuchsias are so beautiful and give such a brilliant reward for so little attention.

Wonderful story. She sounds like someone with many interesting stories to tell. Especially interesting to hear she lives a stone's throw from The London (as I knew it), as I did too. In fact they were our Landlords.

I found Sally Flood's story and photographs so uplifting and her poetry reveals the warmth, life and colour of London. The photographs, carefully saved show the story and detail of her family life and made me think that printing photos is so important so we preserve their jumbled variety and can treasure the memories they preserve.
I hope Sally continues to write and publish her work.

What a fascinating life... And perspective. Amazing that she still (presumably) lives on Mount Terrace. I always wonder if the council will do a compulsory purchase on them at some point - do hope not.
