I wonder whether he had a brother, Lou Hoffman who was a tennis coach and umpire, also from the East End. There is even a physical resemblance. Lou passed away a few years ago, but apart from being a great tennis enthusiast he also was a customer of our company for many years as he had a business making clothes (sports clothes I think)
