Being a bit of a metalsmith I have been to the Goldsmiths Hall quite a few times but have never had the opportunity to see it empty with all its finery or had the time to quietly appreciate its beauty. You are a lucky man indeed

Greetings from Boston,

GA, another great peek into the grandeur of London, and so well preserved.

“… the lavish panelled Drawing Room in the French style with its lush crimson carpet proposes a worthy stand-in for Buckingham Palace in many recent films, and exists just on the right side of garish.”

It does look familiar. Could it be “The Crown”?

It makes Buck House look a little shabby! I wonder if anyone told the sculptor that Richard II was a beardless 33-year-old when he died. The artistic licence seems a little stretched (or perhaps it was a cancelled order - King Lud? - that he managed to offload on the Goldsmiths).
