The comment above about the homeless and communal parties is perhaps closer to the mark than might be supposed. Drapers Hall is let out for events most days of the year and the income raised helps the Drapers give some £2m a year to charitable causes including prisoner education and support and support to homeless people. See here for more details: http://www.thedrapers.co.uk/Charities/Grant-making-trusts/The-Drapers-Charitable-Fund.aspx

I used to visit the Hall in my London years and loved it, but was always enormously amused that each successive generation of drapers had obviously concluded that their predecessors' ambitions for the place hadn't been quite bling'y enough.

Thank you so much, dear Gentle Author, for all the enduring patience, attention, warmth and sympathy you devote to your native area. Here, far away in Berlin, I am very grateful to join you on your daily tours and walks and to share your profound knowledge, your vivid descritpions and observations. On my regular trips to London I try to follow them as often as I can.
