The 6 mile marker stone is shown cleanly in a 1893 Ordnance Survey 1:2 map as being on the west side of Great North Road directly opposite the end of Lincoln Road, which would today be directly in front of the entrance to Iceland in modern East Finchley.

Various internet sources report it at the junction of either Bedford Road or Lincoln Road, but the link below to an old OS Map shows a clear ‘6’ by the junction of Leicester Road.
