I always thought Malins `at the Bow end of Old Ford Road (sadly long closed) was the oldest fish & chip shop in the world, that was if my memory is not at fault from a Guardian report in the seventies.

]]> https://spitalfieldslife.com/2016/10/27/the-fish-plaice/#comment-1113838 Wed, 26 Oct 2016 23:51:46 +0000 http://spitalfieldslife.com/?p=151083#comment-1113838 I cant believe this, I was in hear lest night (Wed) I went in to buy a bag of chips as I was walking past, their lovely people, very hard working, whenever I go in this shop I always think how good it is that they have never modernized it, the appearance may be dated but that all adds to the appeal, in these days of hideously bland faceless burger outlets and endless boring looking takeaway shops I think it makes a welcoming change to be able to go into a traditional looking no frills place like this where you know what your getting, I like it, good luck to them.
