By showing us the “printing plates” created by the artist, we can derive extra enjoyment of the intricacy of the images, and his dedication to craftsmanship. I have long admired British artists including Bawden and Ravilious — and the current day crop — Ed Kluz, Jonny Hannah, Mark Hearld, Clive Hinks-Jenkins — plus, ta da, Christopher Brown, proves that all your amazing traditions are in very, very good hands.

Makes me wonder if I could have a go at one as my Christmas card this year, I have been taught wood engraving (by John O’Connor) which I enjoyed very much, but I have never tried lino cuts.
