Julie’s rendition of these familiar local landmarks is distinctive, yet there are nods towards the late John Allin, whose work has also been featured on Spitalfields Life. I especially like her robust descriptions of brickwork, weathered surfaces, ironwork and glass. Am looking forward to seeing her paintings in the flesh, at the Truman Brewery show in September.
