The prints – made by John himself – have a unique quality. I asked him how he made them but he wouldn’t tell me! All I know is that they are printed beautifully.

If you have the opportunity to see the exhibition, please do. You won’t be disappointed.

It was nice to meet John, he’s a character. Also got to have a long chat with Colin O’Brien. Two great photographers in one evening. Perfect.

The cheeky lady has such experience of life etched through her face. The women on the box and in the doorway look unfulfilled and sad. The scrap merchant looks like a Kray style villain in his sharp mod suit at odds with 7Os fashion. Even mum and dad seem to tell a difficult story or mum does. Dad’s love for her shines through. Poignant and humane.
