I've always wondered about the morality of some getting rich at the expense of others. My grandad and his brother had a succession of pubs around Hackney, Bethnal Green and Homerton. They also ran a tally business which as far as I know was similar to pawnbroking. But the lifestyle also claimed them with early demises aged 47 and 59. That makes me sound somewhat censorious, but I ran a pub for a short time in Wandsworth and still enjoy the camaraderie of a night out with mates. And I have outlived both of my forbears which is due to the old adage of 'drinking in moderation'.

Regardless the subjects make for interesting photos.
