@Sally Baldwin: the wings are clipped enough to allow them to fly a little, and especially to be able to glide to the ground--but not to get enough lift to carry them off if the breeze should catch them. As inexperienced fliers, that would be fairly disastrous, so a necessary step given they need to be outdoors :)

Fantastic pics…anything that combines birds and London makes me happy.

S'wonderful, for many reasons. It came as no surprise to me that the ravens are incredibly
charismatic; likewise, the Raven Keeper -- but that part about the "foxes"!? I found that truly surprising. Well, knock me over with a (raven) feather.
Thank you for another wonderful post, with terrific photos.

I shared this absolutely charming piece about the ravens and their residence at the Tower with my FB readers, as I referenced the ravens in my YA historical fantasy "Jem, a Girl of London." Both the piece and the photographs are captivating. Thank you so much for sharing. Warms my heart!

It looks as though Merlin has had her wings (or at least one of them) clipped? Can she fly? And how about the others?

Wonderful story, thank you!!
Spitalfield and environs are a wonderful start to every day for me, here in the US.
