Thank you to all concerned for allowing us to share those beautiful paintings – they look like photographs, so detailed – absolutely fantastic. My late father was brought up at an address in Artillery Lane – if ever the artist painted this road I would love to see it.

After seeing you on the 6 o’clock news I had to look you up. What lovely paintings many I can recognise from my youth. I used to take my washing to the launderette in Ben Jonson Road in the 70’s. Keep on painting Doreen what a talented lady you are.

Doreen,

I saw the article on the BBC and thought I’d look at the rest. These are a really great encapsulation of the time and will be amazing to look at in years to come as buildings change and disappear
One question I did have that has confused me beyond belief – In the Albion Pub, 1992 piece, there is an advert for Big Brother. Was that a later addition to cover up another billboard you didn’t like? A real head scratcher!
But must distract from my main point: love these pieces!

Your paintings and drawings show a tremendous artistic quality and are really enjoyable. I used to know a Doreen East way back in 1957-8 in Holland who lived at Hall lane 14 in Chingsford , London England she was a beautiful lady and I did enjoy her company very much we did write for a while but that stopped after a few years. The possibility that this was you are slim to none but I thought to write this note to you anyway as memories do not always fade. I thank you for your time and keep up the good works

My wife’s parents owned the terminus restaurant in Mile End. At the time that painting was done. As my wife has no pictures of it and her parents have know passed away. Would there be by any chance we ca purchase it or get a print.
