A lovely interview. Victor still symbolises Playboy to me and the fact that Marilyn and Victor are obviously still so much in love, and still together, is a wonderful continuity from the Playboy era. It truly was a most spectacular experience to be a part of it all. Victor was so hospitable and welcoming at Playboy and Stocks to everyone; whether it be the doormen, the bunnies, the celebrities or the members. Such a true gentleman.

Thanks for all the positive comments. We had a hoot doing this interview!

Achim, great idea a play called "Tea with Marilyn & Victor"...!! If only I knew how to write plays...

Val, thanks for saying I'm funny not fat... :-)) (which Val by the way - VAL IV?)

Moyra, never saw a busker outside Playboy in the years I worked there from '71 to '82. Was (s)he there earlier than that?

Lastly, Nicholas Sack, thank you very much for such a kind comment. A boost that any woman would appreciate...!

Well done G.A. a great piece. Don't forget you're coming to the Great Playboy Reunion this year!

Welcome back ol' pal. Whenever I recommend the GA to folk I'm always a little stumped trying to decide upon a best post sample to reel 'em in. That'll probably never change.

Personally though, I'll always have a soft spot for this exchange, from Marilyn;

"Come here and I’ll show you something"

You and Marilyn should do a sequel with more on the casino and the later years. Barbara has a good memory, is funny and not fat (at least compared to me).

Gorgeous read, wonderful story and fab photos lovely Pats <3

I particularly could relate to this little call and reponse (Although it was very interesting to read about the equality):
Victor: With everyone in the world, chance plays a big part ...... etc
The Gentle Author: There’s circumstances and there’s character..... etc

As a jobbing photographer in the 1990s I was once sent by a publicans' magazine to photograph Barbara Haigh at the Grapes. I sat her in the small upstairs restaurant, walls crammed with framed prints and paintings, the room infused with a sparkling riverine light. I didn't know of her glamorous past until years later when I read a piece about her on Spit Life, yet I was struck by her relaxed beauty and warm personality.
