The photo of Verde on the corner of Brushfield Street and Gun Street brings back great memories. This row of old warehouses from Verde to Percy Dalton was known as Thieves Row.
I worked in Spitalfields Fruit Market from 1961 until it moved.
I started in the London Fruit Exchange first as a trainer buyer/salesman/auction buyer then started my own agency business. For a while I had an office on the second floor over Verde in the early 80's. Tiny office shabby old Victorian interior £10 a week, and later an office over Glutman, just a few doors along from Verde.
Is it possible to obtain copies of these wonderful photos.
Great to see the beautiful colour and atmosphere that comes through in all the photos.
