I wonder if an application has been put in for 50 storey blocks suspecting that it probably won’t succeed. It could be a softening up tactic with a fall-back position of seeking to build blocks which are ‘only’ 30 storeys high. I was part of a community bid to block a risible development which was scaled back, only to be told that was what was expected! Cynical?
