Clubs and societies were such a feature of that of that late 19C and early 20C east end. Never ceases to amaze me. Also, the role of Oxford and Cambridge Universities and the public schools also never seems to be far away too. Whether its Oxford House, Webbe Club & Institute, Toynbee, St Margaret’s House, St Hildas, Docklands Settlement etc..

As the blog by Ron Goldstein say, “the C&BG Boy’s club was started in 1924. In 2013 it still exists in the minds of all those who attend its Annual Reunion.”
