I was at CFS from 1948 when Miss West was headmistress. What a lovely lady, always fair
I remember getting a detention for NOT having my hat on out of school.
We had to travel so far for our sports which I loved
The teachers were nearly all unmarried, VERY strict but really good teachers,no nonsense of any kind

I attended Central Foundation between 1973 - 1978. At the time I was one of a handful of black girls at the school. I especially loved the first two years. It was a nurturing environment that built my self confidence.
This gift has stood me in good stead throughout my life. I was friends with Marcia Charles, Naomi Joseph and Katherine Hodkin. I still have a Facebook relationship with two of them. It would be amazing to attend a reunion, should one ever take place in future.

I went to the school from 1964 - 1969. I remember Mrs Dunford. . I can remember class mates. Beryl Ball, Sharon Kay and Cheryl Kuchinski. I have many memories of guys throwing vegetables over the walls of the school from the Spital Square market. They were so strict on the green uniform. I can remember going to Gamages Dept store to buy everything. I would love to hear from anyone that was there during those years.

My sister Sheila went to CFS from 1959 t0 1966. I recognize some of the teachers' names mentioned here as ones she talked about a lot at home.

I would love to get back in touch with some of her friends from that era - especially Pat Collins, Susan Shapiro and Gabrielle Greene. If anyone remembers Sheila (she died of cancer in 1998), I'd love to hear from them. You can reach me through the family web site lusby.org

I was at CFS from 1966 - 1973. I remember the following things. The Mediterranean Cruise, a skiing holiday in Austria, a German educational trip to the Konigsee, Miss Palfreyman the history teacher. The pupils I remember are Pat Lipman, Barbara Grogan, Little Lyn and Big Lyn, small blonde girl called Jeanette who got 8 or 9 O levels. I became games captain in the 6th form and I played in the netball team and broke a few East London athletics records in 100m, 200m, high jump and the 4 x 4 relay. Loved all the sports apart from swimming. I remember Miss Davis fencing for the UK in the Olympic. Miss Davey gave me her hockey stick when I left and I thing her first name was Deborah. I remember one teacher having multiple births and bringing them to show the class. I now live in Staffordshire and retired a few years ago as a School Business Manager in a Special School for youngsters with SEMH. Anyone that remembers me please post on this website.

I attended the school from 1948 -1953. Miss West that regal, handsome lady was our headmistress. It was a wonderful education. I made great friends with Audrey Goldberg, and Doreen Myers. I know Audrey to this day, I remember when those awful little boys used to throw rotten produce and horse manure over the walls at recess. When we found Roman artifacts under the kitchen floor during renovation. The Roman Walls of Londinium. When our Literature teacher fell off the stage in the hall in front of the whole school, She was O K though. I live in the State of Washington now, but I really miss those happy days.
