Did Mr Waterson provide the painting of Henry?  He obviously moved in high circles if Thackeray was his friend.]]></description>

I wonder if this means the young woman wasn&#039;t the child&#039;s mother - or that she hoped deserving potential parents would come forward; that it would be down to fate to decide.
