He was Social Secretary at City of London Poly around that time (later advisor to Gordon Brown, MP) and a Fieldgate resident, living with Sara Geater (COO at All3Media). I lived there too in the summer of ’73 and then ’76-’82 or thereabouts. Charlie stood outside guarding my flat from squatters while I was off getting my possessions before moving in to No. 4.
