Picked hops at Ploggs Hall in 1950 when I was 11 years old. Had half a bin.
Picked hops in 1951 now 12 years old.
The whole workforce went on strike for a better rate per bushel in 1951.
As a young lad remembered a bad fire when a lot of huts were burned down.
