Ann...a mind-opening story..leaving one with a sense of sadness for those hard days of life...one I would not have searched after but for my cousin in Australia having come across members of our family name living in Limehouse, must be 1840's up! It seems that they kept their Surname but were possibly taken in by the Head of Limehouse, Nathaniel Boscock shown in a census done in 1861. Nathaniel was married and had his own daughter. The census notes my kin as daughters/son. They were Louisa 14, Emily 9 and Nathaniel 6 BINEDELL. Maybe orphans?
I see there is an arrow off centre left to someone in their 70's or more. Is there any name?
Any further info on your research involving any of the above names would be greatly appreciated, or indeed, any more photos -x-
Thank you so much for your article.

I tried to reply via your link above, but no luck. Perhaps the Gentle Author could fish it out? I hope your mum enjoyed it!!! : ) X

The lady sitting on the end of the seat is granny beck. I'm doing the family tree so would be great to make choices intact. I'm going to buy your book as my mum , pat beck, wants t o read it.
