The man in the centre. Looks like my auntie. Rose. But cd be wrong. We lived next door to the pub called  the Prince Alfred  number 86. 					<description><![CDATA[Jean Richmond, my apologies for not replying to your comment before now. I didn&#039;t see it at the time of posting, and have only just read it now that the Gentle Author has featured the photo on Spitalfields Life once again.

It&#039;s interesting that you thought the lady you refer to is your grandmother, sorry to disappoint  you though but I&#039;m afraid that it&#039;s definitely my nan! This photo has been in my family&#039;s possession since it was taken, and there&#039;s no doubt that it is my nan, Flo Beazley, with our next door neighbour, Flo Wheeler, sitting next to her. 

You mention that your gran lived next to the Globe pub in Locksley Street - the photo is actually of the ladies&#039; beano from the Globe pub in Hartley Street, Bethnal Green (corner of Hartley Street and Brierly Street, long since demolished).

If there is such a strong resemblance to your gran, I wonder if there might be a family connection. My nan&#039;s maiden name was Miller, and her mother&#039;s maiden name was Chadwick. The Millers were originally from Whitechapel, the Chadwicks were from Bethnal Green. Let me know if either of these family names are familiar to you!]]></description>
