I was amazed to find it and feel privileged that it will be included in the history of the East End. It was 183 Whitechapel Road and as a child I went there often. They sold paraffin, cut keys and sharpened scissors. All the local tailors went with their scissors and many customers were doctors from the London Hospital. For any historians out there I would be happy to answer any questions I can.

I used to go there with my mother to buy pink paraffin and we used to take our own plastic container to be filled. the whole shop smelled of paraffin fumes which I loved!
