Fascinating reading about you Terry, more so because I have an uncle named Terry Bay, (not you I hasten to add). The funny thing is My uncles family come from all the areas you mentioned, in fact my Great grand parents lived in Menotti street, they were Lizzy and John Bay. My Grandad was John Bay married to Annie weaver. Are these any relatives of yours, I know for a fact there was Alberts and Bills in our family also.
If this is the same family please contact me as we have some lose ends in our family tree that you may have some info on.
Kind regards

Terry Staines is my father so would love to hear from anyone who knew him, especially his cousin and family. Unfortunately he is at an advanced stage of Alzheimers but is still laughing and joking.

What a great find - I was Googling something else to do with Bethnal Green and suddenly your picture came up. We went to Mansford School together and spent a lot of time together - you even tried to talk me into taking up boxing at the Repton with you - I think I tried it once or twice but I thought it's bad enough getting a headache the natural way without having your head bashed in at the same time.

I was even talking about you to my wife the other day - about the time when you and your brother was in the pie shop in Cambridge Heath Road and an old lady, who I think we used to call "dog-end Lil" scraped all the leavings off her plate onto yours and said "Here you are son - you and your brother share it"

Hi Terry

What a great surprise to read your story! I am Alan Webb and was in your class. I am still friends with Jonny Mates who was also in our class. David Veale also, but sadly he died about 7 years ago. I thought I remembered a few of the faces in the boxing photo.

I live in Woodford with my wife Chris. A lot of my friends are cab drivers but I was in the furniture game.

So good to see pictures of the old days. I can't believe we're now old people. I am learning to use the computer and am using my daughter's email address.

Thanks and all the best
