Judging from Homer Sykes’ photo of Clive when he was young, you can see how Clive would have had many “promiscuous encounters”. He was quite a looker!

Clive’s flat is a thing of beauty. I hope he didn’t tidy it too much. I could imagine his rooms being recreated as an art installation and winning the Turner Prize!

Makes you wonder how social anthropologists will record the lives of future old people. Being in the rag trade, or butchery, or such sounds so much better than more prosaic modern jobs: ‘I spent all my life as an International Financial Consultant’ or ‘a data systems controller’! What stories will we have to tell when we get old? And who will ever want to read them
