This was my Grandfather cafe Emmanuel Micallef he had the cafe throughout the 70s but in 1980 my father died he took it really badly shut the cafe and went back to Malta

Hi. I just saw a wonderful photo of this cafe circa 1970. With a chestnut seller pushing his barrow past and a man in a cloth cap leaving the cafe with a cup of tea in his hand. And so I was interested to see this photo as well after doing a google search. Very interesting, and a little sad to imagine all the life that went on at this place just a few years before. Thanks for posting it.

Looking through some old colour slides that I took as a teenager, I have come across a couple of great pictures of this café when it was open and busy.
I don’t know the year but would be interested in hearing any further info about it.
