Lovely article and lovely pictures. It gave me great pleasure to read about the roundabout and see the happy face of the gardener, and I look forward to seeing both next month. I “garden” on dry laneside council land when in America and told them they should add legally it to the garden I own. No joy there.

I spent time in 1972-73 in London and became enamored of English Gardens. Now all these years later after having lived in my house in a northern suburb of NYC for 13 years , my garden is finally approaching my ideal. So I am very gratified to see the roundabout and my garden share the same lushly put-together varieties.
I admire Ms Bousfield for her dedication and willingness to give of her time. London is lucky to have her.
