Thankyou for sharing that. You articulate your childhood feelings so well and to share
these with us is endearing and very brave. It must be cathartic, don't stop.

I love this vignette. I remember reading it when you posted it last Christmas. There is something so strange, poignant and uneasy about it. So many unanswered mysteries. I find your vignettes about your childhood some of your most vivid pieces of writing; the story about your uncle, too fat to get out of bed while burglars took away all your grandmother's antiques, still sticks with me. There is something very sad and haunting about these childhood stories.

I wonder if you know just how wonderful it is for me to crawl nto bed with a new story every night.
Typically I end up following all the links as well and read more than one story.
Love this one, was right there with ya.

Gosh TGA and I thought my maternal Grandfather taking my three sisters and I to Church on the occasional Sunday, with a box of Milk Tray to be shared during the sermon, was the way all spent their Sunday mornings.

You are, I recall, an only child, so your memories are definite, consider my situation with three older sisters, each two years apart, and our multitude of different interpretations of family events!

I know writing and publishing this may have been a tortuous process, but all benefit from a metaphorical scarification.
