Thank you all so much for your wonderful and warm-hearted remarks. I am so delighted that the Calendar has delighted so many.
Fear not! The bare-bones of an Advent Calendar for next year have already been laid out in my mind and in my sketch-book.

I don’t recall how I came on this site but I love it. The advent calender was awesome. It makes me wish Advent was starting all over again and looking forward to next year. The illustrations are perfect.

Each one of your entries is like a little jewel everday and I look forward to it.

I love Advent calendars, and this has been one of the best.
Like a poster above said Spitalfields Life is a bit like a year-round advent calendar, with a new treasure to be revealed each day. Thank you for your time and dedication.

Merry Christmas, Gentle Author and Paul Bommer. Thanks to you both. I really enjoyed the advent calender. It reminded me of childhood when we were alowed to open a little door in the advent calendar on the wall every day. I admire the style of the drawings. As a child I looked out every morning for the surprise in the mailbox. I especially loved the story about the little wren.

This has been a lovely series. Thank you so much for it. Much less calorific than my children’s equivalent (an old plastic box designed to contain nails but, for the last ten years or so, each individual drawer has been numbered and filled with a selection of Cadbury finest for Advent).

My partner and I impose a limit of spending a maximum of £20 each for Christmas (we don’t do the same for the children!) I was quick enough off the mark to ensure that Random Spectacular was purchased as my gift and I am looking forward to opening it tomorrow morning and having a hard copy of work by both the Gentle Author and Paul Bommer.

Many thanks for your beautiful advent calendar. I have read and enjoyed it every day, looking forward to the next instalment with anticipation. I have even used it to inspire a classful of 10 year old boys in my lessons – we are all now experts on Father Christmas. Enjoy your break and I sincerely hope a steaming bowl of Bishop or Wassail comes your way.
