Thank you so much for such a wonderful book - that my sister bought for my Father - who for many years delivered to Spitafields market (1949-1967) the produce from his farm. He had the great pleasure of knowing Paul Gardners father - and yesterday - 8th March - we took my dad to Spitafields for a trip down memory lane. He spent a good hour reminiscing with Paul about his Dad. Paul was very touched that Dad made the journey to see him and tell him stories of his father. Its thanks to your book that this happened and many fond memories were shared, and acquantancies renewed. From the Willis family.

Gentle Author,

I love all the stories and photos about Paul Gardner, his shop, his work, and his heritage. If only I could hop across the ocean to visit Gardners and the many other people and places you share in Spitalfields Life. I was able to virtually visit by ordering some maps from Herb Lester, which arrived in a little paper bag with stars on it that I am sure came from Gardners, as I saw a brief flash of the bag on the Paul Gardner video. From Herb Lester I got the Spitalfields Life map and also the Chicago map, because that's where I'm from and where I live. (The Chicago map even featured some places in my own neighborhood, called Hyde Park.)

Thank you for posting the Advent calendar art - I look forward to it daily. I adore your Spitalfields blog; it speaks to my very soul!
