While I no longer have any connection with the food industry, I returned to London last week and was delighted to see that Sweeting’s was still in existence, and even more thrilled to see that its decor, quality and menus were just as I remembered them.
May the legacy of Sweetings continue, and this hidden gastronomic gem in London remains for many decades.

But the waitresses are younger and prettier nowadays I see! Sweetings was always far superior to Wheelers’ fish restaurants, which I think pretty much died out. I’ll make a pilgrimage to Sweetings when I visit the UK later this year.
