I have found a few hoards of cash. One at my aunties house. She had bought it and I was helping clear .The chimeny breast had a cupboard set into the recess (all terraced houses had them) it had two long doors and three Drawers at the bottom.
Being curious I thought to take the bottom drawer out and see if there was any ''Treasure'' I found some old hat pins and there were also Sugar bags tied with string, which I threw into the rubbish pile. After throwing several I thought to see what was inside; Plastic bag wrapped around a block of £1 pound notes-imagine a block the size of a full bag of sugar (Tate and Lyle white sugar)
It had a paper tag which was three figures 800 or so, from memory. maybe 6 bags.
I called my aunt and the first thing she did was hold it to the light for the watermark.
I never got to find out how much or never even got a mars bar.
The second was twenties in a house my dad bought as a builder £3140.0 I did get a cut.
Shakespeare was the first thing I saw when I brushed off the dust from this bag. It was stuffed behind the bathroom sink pedestal.
I have found lots during my life. My middle name is Anthony-Patron saint of finding hidden things.

Why on earth as the man who is now rich due to Terry Castle's find, not bequeathing any riches on him? In what way has he shown him any gratitude? I find this story completely unfair and Terry seems to have taken a very positive attitude to an experience that shows how political and cultural practises are unfair and unjust. Stephen Selby, who found the story an intriguing tale, still remains able to continue researching local history, what a shame that the young man who has worked as a disability support worker is unable to continue working in his field as a humanitarian - where his conviction that truth and integrity have been proven to be not necessary the rights of man in the field of human justice. I think Terry is indeed a local hero and a very commendable fellow - should we not do something to balance this injustice.....????
