I suggested they explore Spitalfields Life for clues as to the buildings history and here it all is. As usual Spitalfields Life has it covered!
They are keen to understand more of the history of the area so any more info greatly appreciated.

I used to go there during the summer,when I was a student and help her and Alex in the cafe. She gave me a great opportunity with my English and to visit the city.
I stayed at Delfina,she was very nice and told me a lot of stories in the evening beside the fire.
She worked a lot … but always with a smile.
I haven’t been seeing her since 2018.
I miss her a lot

We always made a bee-line for this Cafe whenever we were in London. Used to love the little serving hatch, tiles and leatherette seats. My parents and I enjoyed the ciabattas as well as the breakfasts perched in a little booth. Great prices, especially in London.
Sad to see it has now gone! Gutted, but glad we enjoyed it at it’s best.
