Exchange Buildings was a cul de sac, leading from Cutler Street, Houndsditch, in the City of London.

Each of the dozen or so houses in Exchange Buildings was 2 or maybe 3 storeys tall, so each house would have probably 3 rooms at least, plus a very small and fully enclosed backyard, with a coalshed and an outside toilet.

The stairs are depicted as the rows of horizontal lines in each of the separate houses in the map.

There is a family called Isaac (Woolf Isaacs head) in the 1881 census living at 10 Exchange Buildings, St Botolph Without Aldgate.
Would the family have lived in no 10 in your plan? Was it only one room, or were there stairs to other rooms?
Is Exchange Buildings an address? What street is/was it in?

By 1901 the family was living in 3, North Block, St Botolph Without Aldgate. Do you know where that is/was?

Thank you,
