We are currently trying to search the history of our E Type Jaguar registration No NGP 425D
Might you be the Ivor Robbins shown in the log book around 1972 ? and possibly the original owner from new,any help to fill any gaps in this beautiful vehicle’s history would be welcome.

He is a member of the same golf club as myself along with Tom Hilliard a market trader featured in the pictures. Still both exceptional gentlemen. Ivor still Arsenal through and through. Lovely to see. I will make them aware if not already

I remember Ivor,My brothers and I were regular customers on his stand in Spitalfields
We had a retail shop in South Kensington called Buy-Rite Fruit Stores and went 6 days aweek with a large truck to buy only the best quality fruit and veg, and this usually meant paying a visit to Ivor or his Manager Phil to buy as it was called in those days ” Queer Gear ”
these were items that now adays we take for granted but French Beans, Lychees, Endive lettuce, and Californian Strawberries were all regarded as unusual in those days. The fruit game was a rough and ready business but your word was your bond, an ethos sadly lacking in todays society. I left the Fruit Business in 1990 but I still miss all the charactors from

I remember Ivor Robins very well. I worked in Keith Prowse in Cornhill in the 1980s and he would come and buy his ticket for the Arsenal football club matches from me.

An absolute gentleman.

I happened upon this story via The Times article on the newly refurbished houses in
Varnden Street. This is a man with a great work ethic and wonderfully polite.
It gave me enormous pleasure to read about his life I found myself smiling many times.
