I really love Trinity Buoy wharf. We go regularly to climb the lighthouse and visit the Faraday shed. The one thing that disappoints me though is the loss of the fruit trees. I remember a good few years back when fruit trees were planted in lots of large containers at the wharf - linking in with the origins of Orchard Place. On subsequent visits it was clear that they weren't being cared for and I can't remember seeing them at all recently (we were most recently there for Open House weekend - arriving by boat and touring the lightship that is now a photographic studio; the man who owns it was a fantastic host). I really salute Eric Reynolds and the others involved in the wharf. And, as someone who lived in Manchester for thirteen years and has a real fondness for the place, I hope his Manchester experiment is a huge success.
