Dear Gentle Author: My g.g. grandfather, William Ford, worked for a William Pearson, bookseller of 36 Bishopsgate Within in the 1830's-40's, and seems to have later opened his own shop at 8 Bishopsgate Within; before going to Sydney, Australia to open his own bookshop there in 1842. I am wondering if the street numberings of Within and Without were continuous or separate, and if the number 36 shown in this view is the same shop as Pearson's? And does there exist a similar view of number 8? I'd love to know for our family history files!
