Hi
I am descended on my father’s side from Isaac Rondeau who Married Jeanne Barquet. Their son was Jean Rondeau from Sedan who I believe settled in Spitalfields. He also married a Jeanne… Chalon .
their son Jean married Margaret in a fleet marriage (cant trace surname) and so it went down the years to eventually Maud Rondeau who gave birth to my Grandfather Arthur in a workhouse sadly.My grandfather never knew he was related and I recently unearthed all this through a friend.
Funny to think I love France so much ..but unable to visit at this present time.

Hello Stanley,
I have just discovered your fascinating story! I have also discovered that I am also descended from Rondeau Huguenots. Jean was my 10thx great uncle. Jeans sister Elisabeth who married Job Jacob Marmoy was my 10x Great Grandmother so I think that makes us cousins 9/10 times removed not sure how its worked out. Its all so intresting!

Sorry I need to correct the post above, having checked my family tree I can see it was Job Jacob Marmois married Elizabeth Rondeau in 1678 in Paris before they came to Spitalfields in 1681. Job Jacob Marmois and Elizabeth Rondeauis are direct ancestors of mine. That is the point the two families connected in my tree.
