My father Martin markey was a member until he died 10 years ago. Along with lifelong friends Manny Silverman & Tony & Irvin Hiller he went to every reunion. I only accompanied him once in the 90’s & what a great comaradie where each memory & story outdid the last. WONDERFUL.

Would anyone remember my late wife Sylvia Bloom we lived at 5Boreham St 1961 till 1965 also she lived in linden Buildin with her Mum Rose and Jack Bloom and sister Doreen sadly all passed away.

No good looking at a modern map as Boreham Street is no longer there. !

Find an OLD map then coming from Brick Lane, cross over Bethnal Green Road and take the first turning on the left which was Peter Street and you will see Boreham Street on the right.

I have just seen the comments and am very happy to find some people who knew/remember Linden Buildings. I lived there with my family from approx. 1945 – 1948 (after evacuation). can’t remember what number it was but think it was the first building on Shaklewell of Brick Lane. My brother(Jack Mendel) and his wife and two children lived in the flat next door to us from about 1947 to about 1960 approx. Does anyone remember Mrs. Bloom and her husband Jack and two daughters Doreen and Sylvia? I have some photos of a birthday party for my twin sister and I on the roof of Linden Buildings. Sarah Thorne I think we may have overlapped living there for a while. We went to Columbia Road School till we moved to Hackney Marshes when I was 10. There was a Mrs. Levy who lived in our building to. My Dad also boxed but can’t remember what years and where.

I’ve just read this I know it was published some time ago. My mum grew up in Boreham street she was one of the Lewis family. Mum met my dad at the club his name was John Radley. They had a great time there with all their friends.
