Enjoying this article at 4am in Brisbane, Oz. I'm a pots and pans shopkeeper off to work and am touting the same as I would have in 1754, except there would be little clientele to 'crier' it to back then in Brisbane, just a handful of original Australians. Love your clever twist on the past and yes it made me laugh.

Can Adam be sure that these are Napoleonic cannon? It seems impossible that they could be from French ships captured at Trafalgar, since no French-built ships were ever brought back to Britain. Nelson's fleet had captured 17 enemy ships by the end of the battle, but most of these were lost again in the hurricane that blew the next day. They were either wrecked on the coast of Spain or they foundered at sea. Only 2 Spanish ships, and one English-built ship which was re-taken from the French, ever made it back to Portsmouth or the Medway.
