I remember visiting The Turkish Bath building in Bishopsgate Churchyard in 1959. It was then a place for drinks and belly dancing. I worked just a few yards from this building for a Company called Commercial Cables which had its from entrance at Mackay House, Wormwood Street.

If Christine Francis is still around and she, or anyone else, would like to know more about these baths, and see some click-enlargeable images of the inside, you can find them at:
https://tinyurl.com/zqkcrm8. You can also find out about other Nevill's baths, eg, those at Northumberland Avenue which were used by Sherlock Holmes, Raffles, and Psmith. These baths are on this page: https://tinyurl.com/onhls49.
What a great blog this is. Wish I'd found it sooner!

I am looking at Geoffrey Fletcher's drawing of the baths in his book LONDON OVERLOOKED and have now tracked it down on this site. My hobby is the Victorian East End and I would love to see inside the baths, let us hope that the landlord will be understanding in regard to the importance of this building. So much has been annihilated. Geoffrey Fletcher would be turning in his grave if he could see some of it now!
