A great service being provided by Taj Storesince early 1950 to the British Bangladeshi community in the UK particularly, in East London.
The three brothers Joynal, Junel and Jamal, together, are carrying the legacy set by their father Mr. Abdul Khaleque and uncles Mr. Abdul Jabbar and Mr. Abdul Rahman.

Whenever I visit Taj Store, atleast one of the three brothers are always to be found greeting customers with their natural smile, politeness, respect and salam. Humble in their nature, these three brothers have set themselves as a role model to many small business entrepreneurs not only in East London but also to many such grocery shops all over the UK.

I wish them well and a safe and happy life; to serve the British Bangldeshi Sylheti community for many years to come.

as the daughter of immigrants who lived and died in a foreign land, i'm always touched to read similar stories about other immigrants who left their homes and travelled to places that bore no resemblance to their own and left their mark in an unforgotten way in their new world

i also notice (but perhaps I'm wrong) a sense of novelty in the way that the gentle author describes the Taj wares on display - despite the long presence of the asian community in brick lane, there is still an element of foreignness about them
